Villa MEISSEN Interior Design

PARLOUR-LIKE ATMOSPHERE IN THE PALAZZO CARCASSOLA-GRANDI

Milan, Italy | MEISSEN 2012

The visitors are invited to immerse themselves into an atmosphere of timeless elegance and discrete European luxury in the eight theme rooms on more than 350 square meters.
The listed 16th century town house is part of the luxury retail strip Via Monte Napoleone. The mosaic floor in the entrance, made of finest porcelain tiles, is a new interpretation of the metal ornament on the entrance portal, designed by Gio Ponti in the 1940ies. Wall tiles depicting the famous wall picture “Dresdner Fürstenzug” transform a simple corridor into something like a channel through time. Outdoor furniture for the summer, light fabrics and original statuettes from the porcelain manufacture turn the dull patio into a charming garden. The homelike atmosphere makes this showroom something very special.

“Noblesse instead of showmanship, distinction instead of clamour.”

AD 09/2012, Simone Herrmann
