Fundació Antoni Tàpies Barcelona

One of the most famous Catalan artist, Antonio Tàpies, has a "Fundació" in Barcelona dedicated to his life and works.  The architectonic roof installation designed by the artist, "cloud and chair“,  is visible on the buildings exterior.   

Currently this beautiful foundation is showing an exhibition of Tàpies titled "t" (as in Teresa) depicting a sketched conversation of the young artist with a young lady who would later become his wife after his stay in Paris.

In that time in his life he was influenced by the "art brut" and had contact with Jean Dubuffet.

Simultaneously the foundation is also showing a wide variety of works without an exact title from the artists, "Allora & Calzadilla", who have been internationally very present with their political work for quite some time.  The piece "hope hippo" is especially mentioned here.


 TIP: The relatively new "El Nacional" is a true gourmet temple where the appetite for interior atmospheres is also spoiled at the highest levels.
