Villa Belrose Messages of Art to the Core of the French Riviera
St. Tropez France | ALTHOFF HOTEL COLLECTION 2014
The Berlin artist Rainer Schlesselmann adapted the jet-set era with Brigitte Bardot and Gunter Sachs into his black-and-white photographs on Barite paper. The pictures, taken in the light of the Côte d’Azur, impart the charm and spirit of the Sixties and Seventies to the rooms.
Whenever Markus Hilzinger feels very strongly about a project, he likes to have his pen ready. The mundane flair of the Côte d‘Azur and the Mediterranean sense of life inspired him to the humorous portrait drawings of subtle sophistication based on the poems by Guillaume Apollinaire – an examination of one of the leading French surrealists. The designer and artist used his black-ink pen on handmade paper in confident strokes, creating a series of pictures in Gouache. The drawings in the luxury hotel’s restaurant relate tales of ease, facing life with a wink.
The one of a kind pieces in the lobby, created by a French artist, comprise a unique complex collection of women’s portraits. The gentle colours of the paintings evoke an incomparable mood and underline the hotel interior’s charisma.
One of the most beautiful hotels on the Côte d'Azur, Villa Belrose, overlooking the bay of St. Tropez.
