You live in interesting times

The 58th Venice Biennale, under the motto "you live in interesting times", is highly political. the country pavilions, but also the Arsenal grounds, are trying in many places to find answers to the questions of immigration, gentrification and many current problems in art.

So is the German Pavilion. One visitor told me that this is all in Venice "Documenta good", and somehow she was right.

Often the contributions remain abstract, even academic and coded, unemotional and phrase-like.

Individual highlights may have touched the audience, certainly not the German contribution about the art figure Süder Happelmann, who seems bulky and tired....
